And just like that, another year has past.
I looked up my post from last year after new year, and it went as follows:
So this is the new year.
And i don't feel any different.
The clanking of crystal
Explosions off in the distance (in the distance).
So this is the new year
And I have no resolutions
For self assigned penance
For problems with easy solutions
So everybody put your best suit or dress on
Let's make believe that we are wealthy for just this once
Lighting firecrackers off on the front lawn
As thirty dialogues bleed into one
I wish the world was flat like the old days
Then i could travel just by folding a map
No more airplanes, or speedtrains, or freeways
There'd be no distance that can hold us back.
There'd be no distance that could hold us back [x2]
So this is the new year [x4]
Death Cab for Cutie- The New Year.
With that over and done with, onto the post! First thing's first, happy new year everyone!! Second thing is, I want to thank Bish for a fucking awesome party, even though there's no way in hell he reads this. And secondly I would like to apologise to Gareth, for totally fucking his party anally with a big metal rod. Hope your mum didn't screw at you for fucking off or anything. I am soo fucking hungover right now. Thankfully I no longer smell of the beer that BEN PERRY poured on me. I will have my revenge! But all in all, it was a damn good night. So..yeah. Just for the recond, I do realise i'm chatting shit. On a random side note, I *finally* got myself a new phone. It's incredibly basic, and shit but it is actually mine, and has a cool torch thing on the top, plus it only cost £15. So after about 7/8 months, I can give rachel her phone back. I have yet to do this however.
My life is disapearing. Where have I been for the past year? 2005 literally flew by. I remember sitting here this time last year and thinking about my GCSEs and reading and all that stuff, and now thats all in the past. its a scary thing. Early last year I did some stupid quiz thing, and one of the sections was things you're looking forward to. It looked a lot like this. Mainly because this was it.
09 Things You're Looking Forward To:
1. The end of my GCSEs
2. This summer
3. Reading festial
4. Going to sixth form in September.
5. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie coming out, as well as the Red Dwarf movie which i've heard rumous of.
6. Finding a girlfriend. Though that could be some time.
7. Getting my own place.
8. Travelling the world.
9. The future
Seems strange, that nothings really changed. Well, apart from the bit about the Hitchikers guide to the galaxy. The only other difference is that instead of my GCSEs, ending its now my AS levels. So from this point of view, this entire year has been a waste of time. But I had fun doing it, so fuck it. Of course the main event of the past few days is of course the yearly tradition of new year. It all began at about 4 with myself heading to ux to buy alcohol for one party, then heading home and going to Ryefield to get alcohol for sauls party. At about 8 myself and quirke were walking down Tudor Way laden with 4 large bags bulging with alcohol. We met pilch and ben at hillingdon shops, and shared our load with them so that we could get to sauls with our limbs attached. We got there after a while, and dumped the alcamohol round the side. An hour or so later sauls 'rents left and the party really got started. I spent the first couple of hours making my way through leftover alcopops, before moving on to good ole' beer. Myself and dean married a fair few people, including matt and siobhan, jenni to various people including richy c and paul, and the cutest couple of the evening, ben and quirke. The lanky stoner and the fat irishman. Lovely. At just gone midnight, a fair few people went outside and we popped open some champagne and a few bottles of bucks fizz, which was all good. Shortly after this I headed over to hannahs, stopping over to take a piss on the Vyners sign and throw an empty bottle of bucks fizz down the Vyners entrance lane. All good clean fun. In the end I was still drinking at about 5AM, even if it was only small amounts, and I got absolutely no sleep. In the morning we did some tidying up, sort of, and watched charlie and the chocolate factory, before heading home. I spent a few hours sleeping, and now I'm finally getting down to doing some work. I have to do a quarter of my AS geography cw, in 3 days, having taken about 3 months to do the rest. Fun fun.
