People of the earth, you have failed, you still worship the sun and the daily mail.
So, its the hottest day of the year so far. And since having come home from school, I have not even left the house. Despite really wanting to go out, I made no real effort to organise anything except whinging to richy c that we should do something. And I didn't do too well at that either. On the upside, I did get a bit of revision done. And I do mean a bit, as in about an hour so far. But thats a lot compared to the nothing I've been doing. And I plan t0 do some more after updating this. But I suppose I had better tell the tale of the past week. Its really the only reason i update this thing. I only really write for myself, so I can look back through these blog archives and actually remember my childhood. Thats why I like taking lots of photos as well, i don't want to forgot anything about this time. Anyway, on with the post. Last week at school was fairly uneventful, we played football in the park on thursday (which was repeated today). Friday we headed down to the fields again for a good old fashioned piss up. Though it was really more just sitting down, chatting, drinking and listening to music. I ended up having to walk kate home, as her dad couldn't come and pick her up. Wasn't too bad though, everyone left like 15 mins after and I was still drinking while walking kate home. I got home about 12, played some Guild Wars then went to bed. Saturday was spent having a nice manly night in at James'. We played pool, ate pizza and other such highly unhealthy food. I headed home at about 11, intending to get a half decent nights sleep before Give It A Name on sunday. Failed miserably. At 12:30 on sunday, me and richy met up and headed up into London. We got to Earls Court pretty quickly, but then came out the station at the wrong entrance, meaning we did a circle to get back to Earls Court itself. Along the way I was laughing so hard at the amount of emo kids all around me, even being yelled at by a bunch of girls for laughing at them. When we got in we were greeted by richy c's college friend, emo eddy. He was pretty cool, but emo as his nickname dictates. We then sat around for a while, listened to some of the opening bands and waited for the bigger bands to come on. The first major band was We Are Scientists, who were very out of place, being the only indie band at an emo gig. Unsurprisingly, they were very good, the sound was great and though most of the emo fags failed to appreciate them, I loved it. The next big band was Goldfinger, who were also awesome. Despite getting on a bit, theu totally captivated the audience and where the only band of the evening who got yells of "one more song". Somehow, Goldfinger also produced the biggest moshpits, with two of three pits joining together to form one huge rectangular one. Straight after Goldfinger were Hundred Reasons, a band I had heard little by but richy c recommended so I tagged along to see them. They were pretty cool, perhaps a bit too emo for my taste and me and richy c were being harrased by some strange girl who tryed to kiss richy, was putting her hands round my waist when my back was towards her and trying to grab hold of trousers and stuff. I managed to elbow her hand away, and then she got dragged away by the crowd moving, which was all good. After Hundred Reasons were Tom Delonges new band, Angels and Airwaves. I'd been listening to their album before I came out, and it ws pretty good, and they're performance reflected that. When i saw Blink back in december 04, they frankly sucked, they were all out of sync and it was hard to understand anything, so it was nice to see Tom back on his old form. Taking Back Sunday reinstated the amazing emoness of the evening, and the bassist being hit in the face with the mike made it even more interesting, especially when he came back on with blood all over his face and a bandage on his head. TBS played a pretty cool set, even if they didn't play "You're So Last Summer" (ie: winner of most emo lyric ever with "you could slit my throat, and with my one last gasping breath I'd apologise for bleeding on your shirt"). Next up were of course the Lostprophets themselves, and Ian Watkins new gay emo hairstyle was like the horns on a deer, the gayest and most emo hair showing that he was the alpha male (or emo) of the evening. They played a pretty awesome set, aside from about four new songs which didn't sound too great. Unfortunately they didn't play Ode To Summer, but they finished with Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja, so all was forgiven. Me and richy then made our way home, arriving at mikes around 11:30 to view the end of the party. We hung around for a couple of hours before me and gareth walked home, and I had to walk some of the way home as richy c was sleeping over. I bunked my paper round on monday, and spent the may bank holiday doing precisely nothing. but its friday tomorrow, time to get hammered!
